Transaction

U-News Exclusive! The Blues have signed Joe Bendik to replace the injured Matt Pickens as goal keeper. The injury happened early in the match last week and the club has made several attempts to trade for a new starting goal keeper to no success. "Several BSL clubs have quality backup keepers sitting in reserves, but request for trades went either refused or the asking prices were extremely overpriced. Therefore signing a free agent was the only option at the moment." said the Blues owner. "Its obvious this club needs to replace Pickens and the rest of the league see's blood in the water feeling its time to take advantage of the situation".

Experience Up Top

U-News Exclusive: What may come as no surprise, Union SoCal has resigned Chris Wondolowski to remain with the club. The American Forward has shined as a premier goal scorer and the hope is he will continue that trend in 2013. "Wondolowski is definitely a player worthy of the designated player tag and Union SoCal is pleased to have him wearing blue" said the Blues owner. Also announced was the less obvious re-signing of Edson Buddle. Even with a down year in 2012, the promise of the Forwards new roll in 2013 is worth the gamble to the club. "If Edson stays healthy he should be given plenty of minutes and hopefully finds his old form again."

In other news, there is excitment over the leagues announcement to expand rosters in 2013. Union SoCal is tight lipped over any possible players the club might be interested in. However, the Blues owner has released a statement saying he has every intention in selecting a number of potential defenders. "It is too early to determine the kind of formation that we will run, but a 4-4-2 seems likely and possibly a 4-3-3 based on how the early and middle round draft selections go."
